As part of my ongoing interest in nominative determinism (or how one’s name may influence life’s outcomes) and its sibling, implicit egotism (or the attraction to things that remind us of ourselves), I created this short video. Using clips from trailers for the films Carrie (1976) and Walker (1987), I made a new trailer for a movie about a fictional character named Carrie Walker. Madness and mayhem prevail in both films. I first watched Carrie at the tender age of ten and have wondered how it influenced my high school experience.
